MyWordIQ and SPARES are free to play and are advertising-supported word games. Here is how advertising works across the games.
An advertising-supported website
MyWordIQ and SPARES are free to play. Advertising is how the games are intended to help pay for hosting and for creating new puzzles. Advertising may appear in designated areas of the site, and in the optional rewarded hint feature described below.
Current status
At the time of this update, no advertising service is connected. No advertisements are being served by Google or any other advertising network. The spaces labelled “Advertisement”, including the one shown while a hint unlocks, are empty placeholders. Third-party advertising becomes active only once an advertising service has been configured for the site, and we will update this page and our Privacy Policy when that happens.
Where ads appear
- Ads appear only in designated spaces, each labelled “Advertisement”.
- These spaces are kept apart from the game board, the keyboard and other game controls, and from navigation and written content.
- Ads are separate from puzzles, clues and hints.
- We don't add forced advertisements that interrupt normal play.
Rewarded hints
MyWordIQ and SPARES may use rewarded advertising to let you unlock optional hints:
- You select Need a Hint?.
- You decide whether to watch a short advertisement. You can always say no and keep playing.
- When the advertising service confirms that the advertisement has finished, the hint is revealed.
Using the rewarded hint feature is entirely your choice. If you close the advertisement early or no advertisement is available, the hint stays locked. You never need to click on an advertisement to receive a hint.
Third-party advertising services
When advertising is enabled, ads will be supplied by a third-party advertising service. That service chooses which ads are shown and may use cookies or similar technologies to do so. Our Privacy Policy explains this and how to manage personalized advertising.
Content of third-party ads
MyWordIQ and SPARES do not create, and do not control the content of, advertisements supplied by third-party services. An advertisement appearing on the site is not an endorsement of the product, service or advertiser. If you see an ad that seems inappropriate or misleading, please tell us at contact@mywordiq.com — include the page and roughly what the ad showed.
