About MyWordIQ
MyWordIQ is a daily word puzzle built around one idea: every hidden word starts with a clue.
What MyWordIQ is
MyWordIQ is a free browser game. Each day there is one puzzle: a hidden word, a category and a short written clue. You read the clue, work out the word, and prove it in six guesses or fewer.
It plays like a classic letter-guessing game, with one difference — you never start blind. The category and clue give you something to reason about from your very first guess.
How the daily game works
- Every puzzle shows a category (for example, “US Geography”) and a clue.
- The number of tiles on the board tells you how many letters the word has. Word lengths change from day to day.
- After each guess, tiles turn green (right letter, right spot), yellow (right letter, wrong spot) or gray (not in the word).
- If you get stuck, optional hints — unlocked by choosing to watch a short advertisement — give you an extra clue and then single letters.
The full rules, with examples, are on the How to Play page.
Why we made it
MyWordIQ is meant to be a short, calm part of your day — a few minutes of reading, reasoning and vocabulary rather than luck. The clue turns each puzzle into a small piece of deduction: you decide what the clue points to, then use the letter feedback to confirm it.
Daily puzzles
A new puzzle is released every day at midnight in your local time zone. Puzzles are numbered in order, so everyone playing on the same calendar date gets the same puzzle number and the same clue. That is what makes results worth comparing with friends.
Archive and practice
Missed a day? Earlier puzzles stay available in the archive. You can pick a specific date, filter by category or jump to a random puzzle you haven't solved yet. Archive games are for practice and don't change your daily statistics or streak.
Your statistics
MyWordIQ keeps track of games played, win percentage, your current and longest streak, and how many guesses your wins usually take. There are no accounts: this information is stored in your own browser on your own device. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, your history starts fresh. The Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.
